NSW Greens vaping policy is a huge win for Aussie vapers and addicted smokers

Legalise Vaping Australia, the largest pro-vaping advocacy organisation in Australia, has welcomed the announcement made by the NSW Greens to legalise and regulate nicotine vaping. At the Public Health Association of Australia’s health debate, Greens MP Cate Faehrmann announced the policy, which seeks to put an end to the nicotine vape black market and reduce the harms associated with vaping.

"Regulating nicotine vaping is a critical step towards improving public health outcomes in Australia. The current prohibitionist approach has failed, resulting in the creation of an unregulated black market where vapes are readily available to minors. By regulating nicotine vaping, the Greens' plan will ensure that vapes are only available to adults over the age of 18, and strict restrictions on advertising and nicotine content will be enforced. This is a huge step in the right direction and a huge win for the 1.2 million strong Aussie vaping community" Said Brian Marlow, Director of Legalise Vaping Australia

The plan also recognises the issue of waste caused by vaping, and the proposal to require producers to minimise waste and recycle used nicotine vapes is a positive step towards ensuring the sustainability of the vaping industry while minimising the impact on the environment.

"The Greens' plan to regulate nicotine vaping is a positive step towards creating a safer and more sustainable vaping industry in Australia. By working together with the Greens and other stakeholders, we can ensure that nicotine vaping is regulated in a way that prioritises public confidence and safety."
