Latest Roy Morgan Data Shows Vaping is here to stay
● Australian use of less harmful vaping products has surged to 1.1 million
● New South Wales (including the ACT) has seen growth in adult vaping of nearly 600% since the 12 months to June 2018
● Queensland has had an increase in adult vaping of more than 200% since the 12 months to June 2018
● Victoria has seen an increase in vaping of more than 190% since the 12 months to June 2018
Legalise Vaping Australia, the nation’s largest pro-vaping advocacy body, is calling on state and federal governments to do more to better represent Australia’s growing vaping community, which now totals 1,100,000 vapers across Australia.
“With 1,100,000 Aussies choosing vaping products that are 95% less harmful than smoking and changing their lives for the better, the time for common sense regulations on vaping has never been so important,” said Brian Marlow, Director of Legalise Vaping Australia.
“It’s time to place the health of Australians first, and ensure smokers and vapers alike have ready access to safe vaping products with the appropriate consumer protections in place”
“Despite what anti-vaping activists and policy makers may say about the prescription model, the data doesn’t lie and it shows very clearly their policies have failed abysmally. Despite their attempts to prevent smokers from accessing less harmful vaping products, the amount of vapers in Australia has increased substantially, and that’s a good thing. Every vape purchased is a pack of smoked avoided.”
“We are calling on the the state and federal government to legislate and regulate this product in the same way we have seen in the UK and New Zealand, and give Australia’s 1.1million strong vaping community a safe way to access these potentially life saving products.”
