Vaping advocates commend RACGP endorsement of nicotine vaping as a harm reduction product

Legalise Vaping Australia (LVA), Australia’s largest grassroots advocacy body campaigning for the legalisation of nicotine vaping in Australia has today welcomed steps by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) to endorse nicotine vaping products as an aid for people who want to quit smoking.

“This is a huge step in the right direction by front line health professionals who see the destruction caused by traditional tobacco products and want to reduce harm” said Brian Marlow, Campaign Director for Legalise Vaping Australia.

“The RACGP have examined all of the evidence on the effectiveness of vaping products and have correctly determined that these products should be available to addicted smokers looking for a less harmful alternative. Something that pro-vaping campaigners have been advocating for for years.”

“The Aussie vaping community, consisting of over 250,000 vapers and hundreds of family owned and operated vape shops can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that key Australian medical organisations are starting to see the benefits of safe, legal vaping products. Hopefully policy makers and our Federal Health Minister will finally see the light too.”
